The Institute of Hospitality, founded as the Institutional Management Association in 1938, is the professional body for individual managers and aspiring managers working and studying in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry. The Institute is managed as an educational charity whose primary purpose is “to promote the highest professional standards of management and education in the international hospitality, leisure and tourism industries”.
The Federation of Chefs Scotland (FCS) was formed in June 1994 in response to the need to have a chef’s organisation democratically managed by Scottish chefs. Its aim is to promote excellence in the industry in Scotland. The Federation is a non-profit making organisation and uses all of the funds that it raises to support the industry in Scotland.
Chefs @ School is a new project funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the Federation of Chefs Scotland. Its aim is to encourage culinary and food industry professionals to work with teachers and children across Scotland to bring food education to life.
The World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) is a non-political professional organization, dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisines. These goals are accomplished through education, training and professional development of its international membership. As an authority and opinion leader on food, W.A.C.S represents a global voice on all issues related to the culinary profession.
The International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) is a world class training centre that is owned, developed and managed by top international hotel professionals. ISCAHM offers TESDA registered courses – Diploma in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management and Diploma in Pastry & Bakery Arts and Kitchen Management as well as short courses covering Culinary and Pastry fundamentals.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is devoted to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights, pursuing its founding mission that labour peace is essential to prosperity. Its main aims are to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues. The Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) was established by the ILO in 2006.
Established in 1965 as a Guild of the Cookery and Food Association, the Craft Guild of Chefs has developed into the leading Chefs’ Association in the UK and has many members worldwide.
The Association Culinaire Francaise de Secours Mutuel (ACF) was first established by Emile Fetu and Georges Auguste Escoffier in 1932 following the merger of the Club Culinaire and the Society Culinaire. It represents the food industry as a whole. In collaboration with colleges the ACF organise competitions for students and professionals. The AFC participate in culinary exhibitions in order to promote their work; and organise culinary demonstrations and dinners for charitable organizations.
Willie was a founder member of the successful Scottish Culinary Team and is a true ambassador for Scottish produce, devising dishes and menus which are cooked and judged against the top competing countries in the world including USA, Canada and France. The Scottish Culinary Team are now ranked by the industry in the world’s top five.
Established by George McIvor, a fellow and former Chairman of the Master Chefs of Great Britain, the full range is a unique culinary and purchasing consultancy providing a range of services to small and medium sized foodservice operators, throughout the UK.
Thenamaris LNG Inc. is currently managing two 160,000 cbm LNG carriers, COOL VOYAGER and COOL RUNNER, and coordinating the construction of one more LNG carrier with the same specifications. The vessels, constructed at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard, are equipped with the latest and most advanced technology. Thenamaris LNG undertakes the commercial management of its LNG carriers, and has subcontracted the technical management and crewing of these vessels to Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, a leading global ship manager for LNG vessels.
